The Iraqi Ministry of Defence released footage showing weapons and ammunitions captured from the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the liberated town of Kubaysah, Friday, as the Iraqi army continues its operation to fully clear the al-Anbar province of militants.
The footage shows Iraqi soldiers exhibiting captured IS possessions such as flags, uniforms, homemade explosives and mortar shells.
Ahmed Turki, a soldier that participated in capturing the possessions, said "today in the morning we were informed about the hiding place and a handicraft workshop for the production of SVU [sniper rifle] and equipment of mortar mines and Katyusha missiles. Thank God, we were able to neutralise them."
The al-Anbar officials officially announced the liberation of Kubaysah from the hands of IS forces on March 19.
