Colombia: Ibero-American Summit kicks off in Cartagena with FM meeting

The 2016 Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Governments kicked off in the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias, Friday.
The two-day conference is being held under the title "Youth, Entrepreneurship and Education."
Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin opened the meeting of the foreign ministers, saying, "Youth, entrepreneurship and education. Our countries' future is its youth. In young motivated people, optimistic for their future, with hope for their job opportunities. That is why, this issue is so relevant."
During the meeting, Guatemalan Foreign Minister, Carlos Raul Morales, also spoke about the situation in Venezuela, stressing that "we must start fulfilling the rule of law, respecting the law, and calling on all the involved sectors, all of the sectors of this great country, Venezuela, in order to discuss, to bring forth the interests of this country, to bring forth the interests of the Venezuelan people and to try to find a solution to the crisis within a legal framework."
Foreign ministers from Spain and Portugal as well as leaders from several of their former colonies gathered to discuss commercial and political ties as well as discuss their multi-lateral affairs.
The Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government was founded in 1991 and now includes Andorra, Spain, Portugal and 19 Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries of Latin America.
