SOT, Resident (Arabic): "This is the third time I have received this assistance. Every time we figure out that we actually need it, it helps cover the house expenses and some other expenses. If I wouldn't be able to get it then I don't know what I would do because the situation is difficult and there is no work. We thank them for this assistance, 100 US dollars is a big help because people really need help."

SOT, Resident (Arabic): ''The moment the money from the grant reaches my wallet, it disappears. Before I get home I stop at the supermarket to pay my bills, at the butcher shop and the grocery shop too. Then once I get home, my children ask for pocket money, but nothing is left, where can I get it from? It's not enough.''

SOT, Resident (Arabic): "The projects are very good, they give young people a chance to work and give everyone a chance to benefit without any discrimination. There are many people who did not benefit [receive a cash grant] because they are not registered at the social affairs [authority] as people in need. But if projects are established, everyone would be able to benefit from them."

Low-income families lined up to receive Qatari financial grants at post offices in the Gaza Strip on Sunday.
Local residents could be seen queuing outside the Al-Remal post office to collect their $100 (€89) cash assistance.
The money is being provided to 60,000 families by the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which announced the details on its website.
Many of the recipients confirmed that the cash assistance was a huge relief and helps them meet daily living expenses, in an area with few employment opportunities. "If I don't get it, I don't know what to do because the situation is difficult and there is no work," one of the beneficiaries said after receiving the assistance.
Others, however, lamented that more needed to be done to increase the financial stability of the people of Gaza.
“The moment the money from the grant reaches my wallet, it disappears,” one man said, explaining that that after he pays his bills, he has no money left over for anything else.
