SOT, Cristina Alvarez Rodriguez, Great-niece of Eva Peron (Spanish): "It's very exciting because there are all these girls here today in front of the congress in a place where we work as representatives who came to give an updated testimony about that vote of September 23 and transmitting (the legacy of) Evita to the new generations, feeling her more alive than ever 100 years after her birth."

SOT, Clara Luz Giris, protester (Spanish): "Avoiding Macrism is very important. Although now it seems that we are not going to have it anymore but we have to keep fighting for this because Macrism is neoliberalism. So we change the name but it is capitalism that we have to overcome. The right-wing has to disappear from our country."

SOT, Tony Dominguez, protester (Spanish): "When they summoned us to come to this performance, I said: it's everyone's dream to be Evita, because Evita, beyond being a great political character for Argentina's history is a model of feminism and, above all, a beautiful woman. She is everything we need: beautiful, strong and thinking women."

One hundred men and women dressed in pastel-coloured dresses referring to former Argentine first lady Eva 'Evita' Peron staged a protest against president Mauricio Macri in front of the Congress in Buenos Aires on Monday.
The event marked 72 years since the introduction of a law that guaranteed female suffrage with Eva Peron at the heart of the movement for the bill.
"Avoiding Macrism is very important. Although now it seems that we are not going to have it anymore but we have to keep fighting for this because Macrism is neoliberalism. So we change the name but it is capitalism that we have to overcome. The right-wing has to disappear from our country," said Clara Luz Giris, one of 'Evitas'.
Many of protesters were seen wearing a green handkerchief on their wrists - a symbol of the struggle for the legalization of abortion in the country.
Argentina will vote in a general election on October 27. Mauricio Macri who is running for re-election suffered setbacks in presidential primaries in August as he was beaten by rival Alberto Fernandez.
