SOT, Hubertus Andrae, Munich Police Chief (German): "It is, of course, always difficult to assess the specific situation after these initial reports, so we always assume the most difficult situation, so to speak, a life-threatening situation. So the colleagues also worked their way forward, and in our view, as we have seen from the respective exercise area, the handover and interaction between the police and rescue services has worked quite well in the first part of the operation."

SOT, Wolfgang Schaeuble, Munich Fire Brigade Chief (German): "This handover is one of the aspects that Mr Andrae has mentioned, and the second one is, of course, the distribution of a large number of the injured, so that the seriously injured can also get into the operating room. If you bring a wrong man in there, then someone who would have needed it much more may die."

SOT, Hubertus Andrae, Munich Police Chief (German): "Yes, it would be disastrous and completely unprofessional, so to speak, to copy the operational documents from 2006 and then only change the occasion and hand them in as they were. Instead, the police concept for the Euro 2020 is a new concept. Of course, the knowledge and results from the World Cup are included and, of course, from our other missions both from the Bundesliga games and, of course, from international matches."
M/S Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann *CUTAWAY*
SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Bavarian Interior Minister (German): "It is important to practice all of this optimally. We need such a good preparation, so that if it takes place - all of us hope that it never takes place, there are accidents, terrible accidents with catastrophic proportions - that we are best prepared for them."
M/S Herrmann speaking with rescuers *CUTAWAY*
SOT, Joachim Herrmann, Bavarian Interior Minister (German): "We have a terrorist threat, of which we already had a full view at the 2006 World Cup. Events have naturally developed worldwide, and, of course, we have that in mind. But no one can now say that the danger would be much greater in 2020 than it was in 2006 at the time. So we face it. We have had the experience of attacks across Europe in recent years, and, of course, we stand prepared for them."

Police, fire brigades and other emergency services participated in a large-scale disaster control exercise at the Allianz Arena, and in the nearby Arabebellapark area, in Munich on Sunday, in preparation for the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2020).
Munich Police Chief Hubertus Andrae said that the police have revised proven operational plans, noting that they have included "the knowledge and results from the [2006] World Cup."
Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said that in light of attacks that have taken place across Europe, "we stand prepared for them."
The exercise reportedly affected traffic and public transport.
Munich's Allianz Arena is the only German venue to host matches during the Euro 2020, which is set to take place between June 12 and July 12, 2020.
