26.09.2017
Iraq's army together with Turkish forces started military manoeuvres in Sirnak province, on their shared border with the Kurdish Autonomous Region (KAR), on Tuesday, shortly after the divisive Kurdish referendum.
Iraqi troops arrived on Monday night to Sirnak province, in southeast Turkey and home to the Harbur crossing, the main trading point between the KAR and Turkey.
The joint drills come after the semi-autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq held a referendum on their independence, on Monday, against the consent of the Turkish and Iraqi government.
