Smoke rose after Russian aircrafts deployed in Syria shelled the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) storage positions in Aleppo, northern Syria, early on Saturday. The direct hit purportedly caused the explosion of their vehicles and ammunition reserves, followed by the destruction of the facilities due to the fire. The airstrikes were carried out by Sukhoi SU-34, Su-24M and Su-25SM jets, which are based in Latakia air base at the coastline of Syria. According to the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Defence, Igor Konashenkov, the Air Force have carried out 55 attacks on militant targets in the last 24 hours. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday pledged that the air campaign against militant targets would only increase in intensity.
