Panama: 'Important' to remove Cuba from US list of 'terrorism sponsors' - FM Parilla

For Cuba it is essential to be removed from the United States' list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said in Panama City, Saturday. Speaking at a press conference Parrilla also noted that the first steps, mainly of diplomatic nature, have been taken to re-establish bilateral relations with the US. One result of that will be the re-opening of the countries' respective embassies in Havana and Washington DC. Parrilla also stressed the importance of a moderate rhetoric with regard to bilateral issues so an authentic public opinion about Cuba in the US can be realised. Parrilla's statements came after Barack Obama met with Cuban President Raul Castro on the side-lines of the seventh Summit of the Americas, marking the first meeting between a US and Cuban leader in over half a century.
