Hundreds of mourners gathered outside Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Charleston, South Carolina, Thursday, following an attack in which nine churchgoers died after a white gunman opened fire. Crowds put flowers at the entrance and prayed for the victims. On the fence next to the church, white ribbons were attached to commemorate those who died. Nine people aged 26-87 were killed after a gunman opened fire inside Charleston's Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Wednesday evening. After the shooter, a 21-year-old white man named Dylann Roof, was caught, officials declared he had racial motives. The gunman allegedly told his victims "You rape our women and you're taking over our country. And you have to go".
