Hong Kong: Lawmakers call for Carrie Lam to step down

Hong Kong lawmakers urged for Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam to step down on Wednesday, as protesters gathered at Hong Kong's Legislative Council.
"I really urge her, if she can't govern Hong Kong and she has no determination to govern Hong Kong and she has no ability and even incapable in administrating Hong Kong, please step down," said lawmaker Tanya Chen referring to Lam.
"It is very rare for a a case of a government trying to speak their policy address on TV," said lawmaker Au Nok Hin referring to Lam's decision to deliver her speech via a televised address. "Either they are terrorists like Osama Bin Laden or they are from the government itself, which is impossible to deliver their policies in the parliament or legislating council like Mrs. Carrie Lam in Hong Kong."
Since March, Hong Kong has been rocked by demonstrations sparked by a planned, but now-withdrawn extradition bill. The rallies have evolved into a movement with wider grievances against the Hong Kong administration.
