10.07.2015
Items from film franchises including Star Trek, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings were displayed at Comic Con, in San Diego on Thursday. The items included the Star Trek costume worn by Leonard Nimoy from 1966, which is estimated to be worth around $100,000 (€90,388), and the dagger used by The Witch King in the Lord of the Rings film, with an estimated cost of up to $50,000 (€45,194). The props are owned by The Prop Store Company, who put the items on display so as to give the public a chance to see them. The Prop Store Chief Operating Officer Brandon Alinger said that "if these items are sold they may not surface again for many years." Comic-Con was started in San Diego in 2006. Since then it has become one of the largest international pop culture conventions, with iterations of the event occurring worldwide.
