The US military confirmed that one of its aircrafts crashed on Monday in the Deh Yak district, in the eastern Afghan province of Ghazni, as images of the wreckage emerged on Tuesday.
Footage from the crash site shows the burned remains of a Bombardier E-11A aircraft, a plane used for electronic surveillance. It is not yet clear how many people were on board at the time of the incident, though an eyewitness said two bodies were pulled from the wreckage.
According to US military sources, the plane, which crashed in an area with a strong Taliban presence, was not shot down by enemy fire.
