Nepal Landslides Spark Fear of Flash Floods

24.05.2015
Thousands of people have been told to evacuate their homes in western Nepal after massive landslides sparked fears of flash flooding.
Two earthquakes devastated Nepal on April 25 and May 12, killing nearly 9,000 people and injuring almost 17,000 others.
Authorities fear tremors could unleash a flash flood that could destroy dozens of villages in the remote Myagdi district, 80 miles north-west of Kathmandu.
Emergency workers hope to drain the lake created by debris now blocking the normally fast-flowing Kali Gandaki river.
