SOT, Djamel Belmadi, Algerian football coach (French): "We're very happy for everyone, our whole nation, our people, who have waited for this second star for so long. This is the first Cup of Nations we have won outside our borders. It's just extraordinary, especially if you look at where we came from. Since two months I recovered a team which was really in hardship, without being dramatic they were really in difficulties, and to achieve all we have and reach the rooftop of Africa in two months it's simply extraordinary."

SOT, Aliou Cisse, Senegal coach (French): "As I just said I think we could [INAUDIBLE], we had some occasions and circumstances, but I think in the second half there has been....we could not do that. I think we have engaged in the match well, they [INAUDIBLE], they have defended themselves well, we have missed lucidity at times, but as I said in a final everything is uncertain and when you play against a team like Algeria [INAUDIBLE], so I congratulated Djamel as he has pushed well."

Algeria's men's national football team head coach Djamel Belmadi praised his team for Friday's win at the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal, describing it as "extraordinary", while speaking at a post-match press conference alongside Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse.
Belmadi expressed pride as he highlighted it was the first time Algeria wins the Cup of Nations outside the country.
Algeria's squad scored in every game they played in this year's tournament, racking up 13 goals in total.
Belmadi also pointed that his team performed well despite approaching the competition at a time of "difficulty."
Senegal coach Cisse congratulated Belmadi for the historic win, but blamed Senegal's defeat on the inability to recover from an early goal.
The Senegal coach said his players did not lack determination or chances but missed lucidity during the game.
After winning the tournament in 1990 as the host country, the Algerian team became champion of the continent on foreign soil for the first time, thanks to striker Baghdad Bounedjah's decisive second-minute goal.
