05.11.2016
Russian, Belarusian and Serbian special forces paratroopers carried out a preparatory jump ahead of their first joint mass airdrop above the Kovin Municipality, Saturday. The drills were held in preparation for a drop as part of the ‘Slavic Brotherhood 2016,' a culmination of drills jointly executed by Russia, Belarus and Serbia.
Paratroopers used parachute systems such as Crossbow-2, D-10 and D-6 when they jumped from different heights between 800 to 1,500 metres (2,600 to 4,900 feet). After landing, special forces identified how to safely deploy additional troops in the district. Upgraded editions of unmanned aerial vehicles were then used to further explore the operations area.
Special purpose units will join the paratroopers for the joint Russian-Belarusian-Serbian ‘Slavic Brotherhood 2016' airdrop, the main stage of which starts on Monday and will last until Wednesday.
