Demonstrations against the jailing of Catalan independence leaders continued into their second day in Barcelona on Tuesday.
Protesters marched chanting separatist songs, waving political banners and starred flags, as they made their way towards Gran Via, one of the city's most important streets, where a blockade was due to take place.
Spain's Supreme Court sentenced nine independence leaders to between nine and 13 years in prison on sedition charges over their part in the region's 2017 independence referendum. Three others avoided jail terms but received fines.
