Ukraine: Railway workers hold Kiev protest for higher wages

Members of the Ukrainian Free Trade Union of Railway picketed the Ministry of Infrastructure, in Kiev, on Thursday, demanding a higher wages and an improvement in working conditions.
According to police numbers, around 300 attended the protest. They held flags and banners reading, "Healthy driver, safe travel" and "No to privatisation of Ukrainian railways." According to local reports representatives of the union have stated that workers are extremely dissatisfied with their low wages and want them to be three times higher.
The trade union promised to take further action and picket other public institutions in the city.
