11.11.2017
Former leader of Alternative for Germany (AfD) Frauke Petry led a citizens’ forum for her new-founded party 'Die Blau Wende' [the Blue Turning Point] in Rodgau, near Frankfurt, on Saturday.
Petry and her husband Marcus Pretzell outlined the party's policy platform, including a turn towards the West and Israel in foreign affairs. Pretzell went on to criticise the German Chancellor Angela Merkel for her open borders policy, adding, “[Merkel] abandons the three pillars of a state – state territory, state people, and eventually leads to a monopoly on power.”
The co-founders of Blue Turn left AfD after the German federal elections in September 2017.
