Japanese fans went through a rollercoaster of emotions as they watched their side exit the Rugby World Cup at the quarter-final stage at a public viewing in Tokyo, Sunday.
Japan topped their pool playing an attractive brand of rugby but the power of South Africa proved too much for the Brave Blossoms in the fourth of the weekend's last eight matches.
The South African national team, also known as the Springboks, beat the host nation 26-3, and will face Wales next Sunday to determine which team will play in the final against either England or New Zealand.
The 2019 Rugby World Cup, which is taking place in Asia for the first time ever, is being held in Japan from September 20 to November 2.
