England fans celebrated on the streets of Lens, Thursday, shortly after their national football team won 2-1 against Wales with a late goal by Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
The English national team managed to make a comeback and secure two goals after they were down 0-1 to Wales, following a long-range free kick goal by Gareth Bale. Ten minutes into the second half, Leicester City FC striker Jamie Vardie levelled the score, while Sturridge completed the comeback in the dying moments of the match, causing a jubilant roar from the English fans at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens.
Security forces were on high alert to deter English and Welsh fans from potential violence.
Over the course of the tournament's first week, there have been numerous incidences of clashes from various teams, with English and Russian fans receiving official warnings from UEFA to suspend the countries from the competition if the behaviour of their supporters did not improve.
