17.01.2019
Human Rights Watch (HRW) released their 2019 World Report showing a rising in human rights violations around the world in Berlin, on Thursday.
HRW have been releasing annual reports since 1989, usually focusing on dictatorships. This year's report was focused on autocrats and populists with authoritarian tendencies and the rising resistance against these leaders.
Central to the report is the response to the migration crisis worldwide, and HRW Executive Director Kenneth Roth said that "there is a real battle underway around refugees and asylum-seekers. And we see both in the United States and Europe, and for that matter Australia, engaging in abusing practices."
