23.07.2015
Three new crew members safely arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) after less than six hours flight time from Russia's Baikonur cosmodrome on Thursday. The mission capsule, carrying astronauts from the US, Japan and Russia, successfully docked to the International Space Station at 01:45 GMT around 400km (250 miles) above Earth. Kjell Lindgren from the US, Kimiya Yui of Japan and Oleg Kononenko from Russia, are joining the Expedition 44 crewmates, Gennady Padalka, Mikhail Kornienko and Scott Kelly on board the ISS and will remain there until December. For Yui and for Lindgren it is the first time in orbit. The three new astronauts' take off was delayed by nearly two months due to safety procedures, after an unmanned cargo spacecraft did not reach its destination and burnt up on re-entering the Earth's atmosphere.
