Talks are progressing on an Iran nuclear deal that is "politically beneficial for all sides," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the media in Vienna on Tuesday. Speaking from the Austrian capital where the P5+1 negotiations are taking place, Lavrov said that "that the final result won't look like somebody's victory or somebody's defeat". There is an understanding, he said, that on the issue of sanctions they will mostly be lifted in due course. Russia's top diplomat said that at the moment parties are discussing measures "in a spirit of goodwill and mutual respect". The P5+1 group was established in 2006 to deal with the Iranian nuclear programme and consists of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, plus Germany.
