Members of the Russian 'Night Wolves' Motorcycle Club and their biker companions were unexpectedly met by PEGIDA founder Lutz Bachmann at a World World II memorial in the locality of Schmockwitz just outside of Berlin on Thursday evening. The bikers left a wreath at the small memorial, taking a few photos, before leaving the site. Earlier in the day, members of the 'Night Wolves' were stopped by German border police near the town of Breitenau, just after they had crossed into Germany at the Czech Republic border. Whilst waiting at the border police department for over three hours, German police reportedly asked the bikers to remove any Russian emblems or symbols from their bikes, including Russian flags and replica Victory Day flags. The Night Wolves were joined at the border by a large group of European bikers from several countries including Macedonia, Germany, Czech Republic and Bulgaria. The Night Wolves set off on a 6,000 kilometre (3,728 mile) journey from Moscow to Berlin in April and are expected to reach Berlin on May 9 for the 70th anniversary of the Allied victory over the Nazis. One of their last stops was Prestanov in Czech Republic.
