USA: New Orleans remembers Prince in style
18
26.04.2016
Hundreds of people, many of them dressed in purple, celebrated the life of pop superstar Prince, in New Orleans, on Monday.
A Prince fan explained that he was so touched by the artist's passing not because he knew him personally; rather that Prince helped him to "know" himself, adding "purple forever, baby."
In a New Orleans tradition, a band and a sound system playing Prince's hits paraded through the city's streets, following were hundreds of dancing fans. The parade goers congregated at the The Ooh Poo Pah Doo Bar in Treme.
According to local police, Prince was discovered 'unresponsive' at his Paisley Park recording studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota, and pronounced dead at 10:07 local time (14:07 GMT). An investigation has been launched into the exact circumstances of his death and an autopsy will be performed at the Midwest regional medical examiner.
