As many as 200 United Airlines flight attendants, pilots, and gate agents staged protest outside O'Hare International Airport in Chicago on Thursday to condemn staffing cuts.
The protest which was called upon by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) saw protesters carrying banners and chanting outside the airport’s Terminal One.
"We have record profits, the airline industry is making a lot of money and yet they still want to cut service," said a flight attendant who said United was following the example of Delta and American Airlines.
Decreased quality of service and passenger safety was among other issues raised by the protesters.
Similar protests were also organised for other important United Airline’s hubs around the US including San Francisco International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.
The protest came after United announced earlier this month it would be cutting one flight attendant from staffing assigned to United's profitable Polaris international business class cabin.
