20.08.2015
Over 5,000 people rallied through the streets of Quito's historic centre on Wednesday to protest against the President of Ecuador Rafael Correa's bid for fourth term in office. Portesters held banners and chanted slogans against Correa's government, before setting fire to a coffin in which the face of Correa among with other Ecuador leaders were printed. Protesters also burned the flag of Correa's party "Alianza PAIS". The march was called by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE) and the United Worker's Front (FUT), which have vowed to keep the demonstrations "with more strength" in the upcoming days.
