The Vila Formosa cemetery in Sao Paulo, the largest in Latin America, continues its preparations to accommodate the growing number of victims of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Drone footage from Friday show workers working on structures that will house vertically placed urns, as well as graves that were dug for victims of COVID-19.
Sao Paulo Mayor Bruno Covas announced a plan to open 13,000 new graves in the city, 8,000 of them in the Vila Formosa cemetery.
According to Johns Hopkins University, 95,865 cases of COVID-19 and with 6,980 people dying with the virus to date in Sao Paulo. The total number of cases in Brazil is 438,238, with 27,878 related deaths.
