Hundreds of citizens of a small Naples’ district of Bagnoli arrived in Rome, Friday, to protest against government decision to dismiss the head of the local administration.
The protesters carried banners and puppets, with one demonstrator carrying an effigy of Pinocchio with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s portrait plastered on its head.
"The people of Naples have no voice when it comes to decide our future. Bagnoli is a neighbourhood of Naples. As Neapolitans, we have no voice in deciding what the future of this neighbourhood should be," said one of the protesters.
Around 200 police officers were deployed to the site to stop the protest from escalating.
