Those responsible for the deadly bridge collapse in Genoa would be held to account, promised Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini during his visit to Sicilian city of Catania on Tuesday.
"Now, as an Italian citizen, I will do everything to get the names and surnames of the managers responsible, past and present, because it is unacceptable to die like that in Italy," he said, while visiting the south Italian transport and logistics company 'Geotrans srl.'
"Today I'm in Sicily as planned and tomorrow in Calabria, but I've canceled a part of that trip and in the afternoon I will be in Genoa alongside the rescuers," Salvini added.
A major section of Italy's A10 highway collapsed in the northwest Italian city of Genoa earlier in the day, around 11:30 (09:30 GMT), killing at least 35 people. The reason for the incident is still being investigated.
