Three crew members part of the Expedition 44 crew successfully docked on the International Space Station (ISS) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Wednesday. Aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket, the mission was delayed for two months. Cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, NASA astronaut Kjell Lindgren and Japan's Kimiya Yui blasted off on the journey to the ISS - which is an estimated 260 miles (418 km) from the surface of earth - late Wednesday. Wednesday's mission was supposed to take off in May but was delayed by Russian authorities due to a failed launch by a different Soyuz rocket in late April.
