State of Palestine: Israeli soldier throws disabled man out of wheelchair

16.02.2016
An Israeli Defence Force (IDF) soldier pushed a disabled Palestinian man out of his wheelchair in the West Bank city of Hebron, Sunday. The incident occurred after the man attempted to help a wounded 14-year-old girl, who had been shot by Israeli soldiers and was left on the floor bleeding and wriggling in pain.
The wheelchair bound-man, Mr al-Fakhouri, 53, attempted to aid the wounded girl, Yasmin Rashad al-Zarou, who was left bleeding in the street after Israeli soldiers shot her, alleging that the girl was involved in an attempt to stab an IDF soldier earlier in the day. In an unprovoked attack, an unidentified Israeli soldier hurled the handicapped man to the floor, throwing his wheelchair backwards, whilst another launched a stun grenade at the crowd moments later.
Violence has escalated across the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel in recent months. At least 149 Palestinians have been killed since violence began to escalate again in 2014, with over 2,120 injured. A reported 20 Israelis have died since the start of the recent tensions.
