22.09.2015
Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski attended Krakow District Court, Tuesday, for a third time in 2015 over a 1977 child sex conviction case, to be told by Judge Dariusz Mazur that a decision will be made regarding his extradition to the USA at the next sitting, October 30. Director Polanski, accused for having sex with a 13-year old girl Samantha Geimer, returned to the court after he was asked to provide additional information. Mazur described the documents as "sufficient." Speaking to journalists after the session, Polanski said that he felt "pleased with the fact that almost all were accepted by the court." Polanski was initially charged in 1977 with five offenses including rape by use of drugs, sodomy, and lewd and lascivious acts upon a child, but under a plea bargain deal all charges were dismissed and Polanski pleaded guilty only to the lesser charge of "engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor" before he fled the USA for Europe.
