Netherlands: See the world’s LARGEST air purifier filtering Rotterdam's skyline

The world’s largest air purifier, the Smog Free tower, pumped the pollution from Rotterdam’s skyline, Friday, sifting over 30,000 m³ (1,059,440 ft³) of air per hour. Designed by Daan Roosegaarde, the Smog Free tower filters the massive volume of air, going on to condense the fine smog particles into tiny “gem stones” that can be embedded in rings, cufflinks, and more. Each stone is roughly equivalent to cleaning 1,000 m³ (35,314 ft³) of air, so those who wear the jewellery are adorned by the condensed material from vast swathes of Rotterdam’s skyline. In the designer’s words, buying a ring means “you donate a thousand cubic metres of clean air to the city where the Smog Free Tower is.”
