29.05.2015
A U.S. appeals court ruled on Friday that an Idaho law that prohibits abortions of fetuses twenty or more weeks after fertilization is unconstitutional. The ruling was from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. The court also struck down an Idaho law which required that all second trimester abortions occur in a hospital. According to the Guttmacher Institute, in Idaho,
a woman must receive state-directed counseling that includes information designed to discourage her from having an abortion. She must then wait 24 hours before the procedure is provided.
