And we are very worried and disappointed about how the negotiations are going."

SOT, Lara Contreras, Oxfam spokesperson (Spanish): "We are worried because they're questioning human rights inside the agreements and gender equality, which is very relevant, and it was something needed to be achieved in this COP. And, where we don't see any improvement is with financial mechanisms. We are expecting a surprise this weekend, that at least they increase their ambition in emissions reductions as well as financing."

Oxfam activists donned masks of different world leaders as they staged a protest attacking the world's leading CO2 emitters for saving themselves as poorer nations will be swamped by rising sea levels due to climate change, at the UN Climate Change Conference COP25 in Madrid on Tuesday.
Participants wore masks of US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
"High income countries are the ones producing most of the CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, in fact, 50 percent of the emissions come from high income countries, while the most vulnerable countries, those that just contaminate one percent, are the ones suffering the impact of climate change: floods, cyclones, droughts, losing their means to make a living," said Oxfam spokesperson Lara Contreras.
Contreras added that Oxfam is calling for more funding for helping the most vulnerable countries adapt to the consequences of climate change but added that the charity is "very worried and disappointed about how the negotiations are going."
The flash mob protest was held in the 'Green zone' of the UN's COP25 summit, which is a 3,000 square-metres (9842 square-foot) space dedicated to raising awareness about the climate crisis and showcasing sustainable projects.
