SOT, Kin, protester: "We are asking for the British government to do something with the Sino-British Joint Declaration, because during that negotiation, the Chinese government has promised Hong Kong's democracy and universal suffrage. But until now, the promises are gone, so we wish the British government [would] do something to negotiate with the Chinese government and to support Hong Kong people."

Hong Kong demonstrators delivered a petition to UK Consul General Andrew Heyn on Sunday, asking for support from the UK government.
Footage shows protesters gathered outside the British consulate in Hong Kong with Union Jacks and signs as they deliver an envelope to consulate staff as they chant "God save the Queen."
"The British government can enact some acts like the United States, like the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act," said Chan, one of the protesters.
Hundreds of thousands have taken part in protests against an extradition bill with mainland China since the end of March and despite the bill being withdrawn, protesters continue to hit the streets calling on other demands to be met. Among them is investigation of alleged police brutality during demonstrations, freedom to those arrested as well as other demands.
