Hillary Clinton's First-lady-era Road Trip Guide
629
14.04.2015
For Hillary Clinton, there was once a time when the Scooby Van just didn't cut it.
As Clinton launched what aides are portraying as a stripped-down, no-frills presidential campaign with a road trip from New York to Iowa, newly-released documents POLITICO obtained from the Clinton Library reveal the detailed checklist of travel needs her aides maintained when she served as first lady from 1993 to 2001.
There are no outlandish rock-star requests like a demand to separate out the green M&Ms.
However, the memos give a hint at the style in which Clinton was accustomed to traveling during her first stint in the White House.
Among her requests were to have umbrellas available rain or shine, for bathroom mirrors to display water warning signs during overseas trips, and for locations of local hospitals to be placed within each vehicle checked by the Secret Service.
