Singapore: PM Lee kicks off 33rd ASEAN summit

The 33rd summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) kicked off on Tuesday at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore.
Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong greeted leaders and gave a welcoming address where he underlined how his government views its chairmanship of the organisation as an "important responsibility."
The four-day event sees representatives from the 10 ASEAN member states as well as from the region's major economies meet to discuss economic, trade, security, investment and development opportunities in South East Asia.
