12.11.2015
Drivers employed by the transport network company Uber staged a demonstration in front of the Uber offices in London, Thursday, to protest against a five percent increase in commission drivers will be required to pay. Protesters, organised by the Uber Union GMB, held banners slamming what they see as "exploitation" and "greed" coming from the transport company. Protesters played drums and chanted "Shame on Uber." Commission for new Uber drivers increased from 20 to 25 percent, cutting the incomes of up to 20,000 drivers by up to £50 (€71) per week. On 29 October, GMB members working for Uber issued a claim at the the London Central Employment Tribunal, alleging that the company does not provide drivers with basic workers' rights.
