President of the European Council Donald Tusk called for "a peaceful denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula" when speaking to the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, on Wednesday.
"No country should be allowed to undermine the global non-proliferation regime or to threaten peaceful countries," underlined Tusk. Then he went on to advocate upholding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran, saying it is "a multilateral deal that is delivering more security for us all."
Discussing counter-terrorism issues, Tusk also addressed Muslim leaders at the General Assembly, saying, "Your strong stance against Islamist extremism will be a real support in the fight against terrorism."
Tusk also went on to speak about the refugee crisis, which has impacted European Union policies both domestically and overseas. He urged for UN members who weren't part of the EU to engage on this issue, "both in terms of money for humanitarian assistance, and more resettlement for those displaced by conflicts in Syria, Yemen, Myanmar, and especially across Africa."
