Footage of civilians fleeing to Iraq's northern Sharqat District ahead of a government offensive to reclaim Mosul from the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formally ISIS/ISIL) was taken on Friday.
Images shows camps set up to house those displaced and Iraqi Army officials escorting civilians to safety. US-backed Iraqi forces are attempting to take back the country's second biggest city and the militant organisation's biggest stronghold.
Mosul has had around 1.2 million people living under the Islamic State's rule and it is predicted that up to one million people might have to leave their homes in the coming months, according to International Committee of the Red Cross estimates.
