Eleven drawings made in prison by Pietro Pacciani, the presumed serial killer nicknamed the 'Monster of Florence', went on display for the first time in an exhibition titled 'Pietro Pacciani - One Solo Show', in Venice on Friday.
Visitors were seen strolling through the Venice Faktory gallery to take a look at Pacciani's work.
Claudio Donaggio, journalist, explained that Pacciani was found guilty "of 16 murders committed in Tuscany over 30 years. He has been sentenced as the actual killer, but the name of the person who commissioned the murders is still unknown in Italy."
One of the visitors, Patrizia Borghin, said "I think this exhibition is crucial for our culture at present. In this country, the debate about the dark side of human beings is absolutely censored nowadays."
The profits from the sale of prints of Pacciani's drawings will reportedly go to charity.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until October 20.
