Dozens of rescuers safely pulled out an elephant calf trapped in a drain in the port city of Hambantota on Sunday.
Dockers and wildlife workers joined forces to liberate the trapped calf from a drain near a main road which, according to local reports, is a hotspot for passing wild elephants.
After managing to pull out the calf with the help of ropes, its rescuers then proceeded to transport it away to receive medical treatment.
