SOT, protester (Spanish): "Yesterday, when we were on the picket line, there was a colleague crying inside a 5-star hotel. And the management wouldn't let her leave. And when she left the hotel, she had to show the contents of her bag which is very degrading because they treat us as if we were garbage, as if we are thieves. It's not fair. We are professionals and they have to respect us as such."

SOT, protester (Spanish): "We've had enough of waiting. When would be the 'good' moment to protest? They are damaging our health. They are killing us day by day. And we can't take it anymore. If we hurt them it doesn't matter because they've been hurting us for 30 years."

SOT, protester (Spanish): "They are the protagonists of course, but the entire national trade union structure of the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) is behind them."

Hundreds of hotel workers backed by Spain's General Confederation of Labour (CGT) continued their two-day strike over poor labour conditions in Ibiza on Sunday.
"We've had enough of waiting. When would be the 'good' moment to protest? They are damaging our health. They are killing us day by day. And we can't take it anymore. If we hurt them it doesn't matter because they've been hurting us for 30 years," said one protester.
Protesters demand the employers treat them as professional workers with relevant rights and appropriate workload.
