Sudan: Children of Sudanese IS fighters return to Khartoum from Libya

The first group of children of Sudanese fighters for the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL in Libya were reunited with their families in Khartoum, Tuesday.
Upon touch-down at the Khartoum International Airport, the children embraced their relatives after years of separation.
Some of these children faced imprisonment in Libya as their fathers were either killed in combat or captured. Muhammad Al-Tayyib, uncle of returned child, recalled: "The war has started, and Abdullah died. Other family members are in jail, including three children. Two of them came back now." However, their mother remains in prison along with her youngest daughter.
The efforts to bring these children back are coming from joint cooperation between Libyan Red Crescent and Sudanese government. Spokesperson of Anti-terrorism department of security and intelligence services of Sudan Ibrahim Al-Tijani stated that Sudan "this is the first group of children. We will continue working with the Red Crescent of Misrata to bring back four more children who are there".
