Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that a lot of efforts have been made to integrate Crimea into the Russian legal, social and economic environment, speaking at the All-Russia People's Front meeting in Yalta on Wednesday.
Since the Crimea's reunion with Russia in 2014, "we have carried out a lot of productive work to integrate the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol in Russian legal, economic and social environment," Putin stated, before adding that "this turned out to be a challenging task."
He continued, "within the limited timeframe, both energy and water blockades of the peninsula have been lifted. We have been actively working on a transport route through the Kerch Strait."
Putin also stressed that All-Russia People's Front, a first public association operating in Crimea after the referendum, has played a significant role in the realisation of social and economic project on the peninsula. However, Russian president noted that "a lot of issues are still not resolved, and it’s natural especially because these problems have been accumulating within the decades."
