Mahran Ali, a Kurdish refugee from Syria, displayed his wire model vehicles in the Idomeni refugee camp, on Thursday.
Ali explained how he brought all the material needed to make the models with him from Turkey, saying “They got a little bit of damage, also it become wet from the water from the sea.” Ali said he makes the models for children to play with; he has even added a small motor, creating a remote control car.
"I love to make these, and the children love it. This is something really that I love to do, this is my passion. It makes me happy in my mind," he said.
Ali and his family fled from Aleppo in northern Syria, “Three times we survived an attack from the big bombs. It hit our neighbours but not us. I thank God that nothing happened to us,” explained the craftsman.
