Hundreds of Kurds marched through the streets of Athens on Thursday, denouncing to Turkey's plans to bombard the Kurdish-held region of Afrin in northern Syria.
The protesters danced to traditional Kurdish music on the Syntagma square, while holding banners and chanting slogans.
"Such as Kobani's victory was the beginning of the end for ISIS (so-called Islamic State), the victory in Afrin will be the beginning of the end for his government," said Iebrahem Muslem, the diplomatic representative of the 'Democratic Union Party' (PYD).
On Wednesday, the Security Council in Turkey discussed the possibility of a military operation in Afrin, an autonomous region under Kurdish control in northern Syria.
Turkey views the People's Protection Units (YPG) that is active in Afrin as extension of banned militant group Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
