Germany: AfD hold rally in Munich beer hall that launched Hitler's career

Alternative for Germany (AfD) leader Frauke Petry held a controversial speech in Hofbraukeller in Munich, Friday, the brewery where Hitler held his first political speech.
Petry explained the AfD's decision to hold the event at the brewery, saying "because it offers a lot of space and not because someone had spoken here before. That was the requirement of the AfD."
The brewery signed a contract with the AfD, but they annulled it later. After a court appeal, they are obliged to host it, otherwise, they would have to pay €20,000 (22,600 $).
The Munich institution was used for Adolf Hitler's first speech as head of the German Workers' Party in 1919 and later featured in his manifesto Mein Kampf.
